Woods’ The Accompanist to have its French premiere at the Deauville American Film Festival September 10

Zach Woods’ feature directorial debut film, The Accompanist, is a selection for the Deauville American Film Festival, now in its 52nd edition. The festival runs from September 4–13.

The Accompanist’s screening is tied to Susan Sarandon being honored with the festival’s Icon Award; she stars in the film alongside Everly Carganilla and Aubrey Plaza. While Sarandon’s attendance is not yet confirmed, Zach Woods will be at the festival:

[Sarandon] will next star in The Accompanist, the feature directorial debut of Zach Woods, with its premiere screening, in his presence, following the Deauville Icon Award Ceremony on Thursday, September 10. (emphasis ours)

The Deauville American Film Festival will mark the film’s first festival appearance since its debut at Tribeca June 4, 2026.

According to the film’s synopsis page, no distributor is named for any territory; the page lists Mister Smith Entertainment as handling international sales. We cannot confirm whether the film has secured distribution in France or elsewhere. At the time of this writing, no U.S. release date has been announced.
