Zach Woods, known for his roles in Silicon Valley, Avenue 5, Veep and other credits, released an Instagram reel announcing his support for pop music artist Olivia Rodrigo, who has faced backlash for her fashion choices. In solidarity, Woods’ message to Rodrigo and his own fanbase (which totals more than 820,000 followers) was accompanied by bold fashion choices of his own: Woods himself dressed in three babydoll dresses, paired with thigh-high socks, Mary Jane shoes, and accompanying bloomers. He asserted his bodily autonomy by addressing his viewers directly, saying, “We’re not dressing for you. Olivia and I dress for each other, capisce? And some predatory man perving off on our bodies is not our responsibility.” A video still of comedian Jerry Seinfeld from the hit sitcom Seinfeld accompanied this message.
While manspreading, Woods called out men to “do better,” noting the lack of participation by male musicians in Rodrigo’s inaugural Daisy Chain Fields Music Festival, scheduled for August 29 in Irvine, California. Artists Chappell Roan, Bikini Kill, Doechii and others are set to perform alongside special guests Karen O, Sarah McLachlan and Stevie Nicks.
In addition, Woods singled out the hypocrisy stemming from the lack of criticism toward figurine company American Girl, a subsidiary of toy powerhouse Mattel, creator of the popular American Girl doll line. Woods has had what can be described as a vendetta against the company following a sponsorship opportunity that failed to manifest between the actor and doll manufacturer over the last few months. Prior videos Woods has released on Instagram reveal The Office star stalking an American Girl Dolls storefront, flashing a middle finger and cursing, in addition to beheading a figurine in a feral rage.
It is clear Olivia Rodrigo does not have a “traitor” in Zach Woods. He asserted to Rodrigo toward the end of his Instagram message: “I’ve got your back, sister. I’m powerful and I have reach. And you are in trouble and I’m going to save your f———ing life.”
Daily Zach Woods has contacted Woods for reaction, comment or further unhinged behavior. At the time of publication, we have not received a response. Further, Woods has also not confirmed his own participation in the Daisy Chain Fields Music Festival.
