“What was your first impression coming on the set?”
Zach: John Krasinski directed the episode I was doing, and I think he knew I was kind of pent up and terrified — so even though it had been a long day, he let me just improvise a lot in that talking head […] It let me relax. He was so kind about it.The level of kindness and hospitality extended to me on that show was bizarre. If you’re in the late seasons of a TV show with such a deep bench of amazing characters and some new person shows up who’s going to suck up more oxygen, eat up more story time […] it would be very easy if people weren’t all that receptive. Especially if that person is a rookie still learning what an eye line is, what a mark is […] It would be totally reasonable to have a kind of professional detachment. But everyone was so generous and kind. You guys were so lovely to me, so sweet and inclusive.
